Andreas Gursky
Andreas Gursky was born Leizpig, 1955 German Photographer.With short age, his family moves to Dusseldorf where his father initiates him in the photography. It studies in the Academy of the Arts of this city and in the Folkwangschule of Essen, founded by Otto Steinert. In his beginnings adopts a next style to the of his teachers, Bernd and Hilla Becher, those who develop to finals of the 50 a new photographic aesthetics characterised by subjects of anonymous industrial architecture and abandoned that today is known like the new objectivity. In 1984 it abandons this style and restarts a more spontaneous observation of the reality, with scenes flooded of light that remember the work of young American artists like Stephen Shore or Joel Sternfeld. His work gives a decisive twist in 1990, as a result of a trip to Japan in which it photographs the stock market centre of Tokyo and that carries him to recover the precise methods of the Becher and of the commercial photographers. In the transcurso of the decade of the ninety incorporates to his work the digital manipulation. His work has put in relation with the speech of the posmodernidad; it realises an acute analysis of the social behaviour standardised, product of a world transformed by the high technology and the globalisation, of this that the serialización like subject in his images, usually of big format, was frequent. Philippe Halsman
Halsman Was born on 2 May 1906 in Riga in the breast of a Jewish family and studied engineering in Dresde. In 1928 it was accused publicly of parricide; his father that had by name Morduch fell and died during an excursion campestre in the alpes Austrian, however the people of the surroundings did not doubt in accusing it to having committed murder, influenced by his Jewish origin and of the existent antisemitism and to fault of other proofs.
