PrestaShop is a simple open source tool that we installed on our server, and creating our online store.
This tool is developed exclusively with php5, and is very light and fast. The requirements necessary to make it work, is summarized as follows:
1. Server Linux, Unix, or Windows
2. Apache Web server
3. PHP 5.0 or higher
4. MySQL 5.0 or higher
Most dedicated servers include these features, otherwise, you should order them so the store will work perfect.
Not all that glitters is gold, and the versions that are available right now are Release Candidate versions, pending a final version (at the time of this writing we are in version 0.9.7.1 and version 1.0 will be stable) . Still, you can built a fully functional shop with these previous versions, though logically expect more new features to the stable release.
